    Henry R. Bliss, 53 years old, secretary and treasurer of the Sinker-Davis Company since its reorganization twenty-five years ago, died at his home on North Meridian street yesterday morning, after an illness of almost five months. He is survived by a wife and one son, Henry W. Bliss, also connected with the Slinker-Davis Company. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon, the burial will be private. Mr. Bliss was born in Weedsport, N. Y., on June 27, 1859. When a mere boy he went to Chicago. He remained there until twenty-five years ago, when he came to Indianapolis to join the Sinker-Davis Company. He was always active in causes that meant a larger and better Indianapolis. He was a director of the Commercial Club, a member of the Board of Trade and a vestryman at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. - The Indianapolis Star – 20 Nov 1912, Wed – Page 3

Trinity Episcopal Church of Indianapolis, was the setting for Miss Elizabeth M. Presnall’s marriage Sunday afternoon to Henry W. Bliss.

The bride, a former resident of Hancock county, is the daughter of C. A. Presnall, of Charlottesville.

Miss Margaret Presnall was her sister’s only attendant. Phillip Z. Horton, Peoria, Ill., was best man and ushers were A. M. Gavit, Bloomington, and Arthur Oglesbee, Chicago

The bride attended Ball State Teacher’s College and is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. Her fiancé is a graduate of Cornell University and a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity - The Hancock Democrat (Greenfield, Indiana) – 25 Jun 1953, Thu – Page 4






Henry W. Bliss, Lake Resident 56 years, Dies at Indianapolis - Funeral services were held this morniing for Henry W. Bliss, prominent Indianapolis and summer resident of 1022 East Shore Drive.

Mr. Bliss died unexpectedly Sunday morning of general cancer

The Bliss family came to Lake Maxinkuckee shortly after the turn of the century and purchased the "Shady Bluff" cottage on tje East Shore.

Mr. Bliss was married in Jun 1953 to Elizabeth Presnall.

They have been enthusiastic member of the Maxinkukcee Yatcht Club.

Surviving besides his wife is a cousin, Miss Dot Porr. His mother preceded him in death about four years ago.
