George C. Miller, 73, 1135 W. Fifth St.. retired banker, died at his residence at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday following several years' illness

Mr. Miller, a prominent Peru citizen, served as seretary and director for the Peru Trust Co. for almost 50 yeara. Prior to this time he was associated with his father in the mercantile business in Peru. In 1902 he was first assistant secretary of the Peru Trust Co.

Mr. Miller was a member of the first Methodoist Church, serving as trustee for many years. He was also a member of the Masonoic Lodge, rotoary Club, Phi Psi fraternity and past director of the Chamber of Commerce.

He was born Oct. 30, 1882 in Peru. the son of George c. and Frances Ellen (Leebrich) Miller

He was married May 14 1919 to Ruth Mae Burton who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Mrs. WIlliam Meeker of Hammond and Miss Mary Ellen at home; two brothers: charles of Las Vegas, Nev. and Elbert of Peru. One Borther is deeased.

Funeral services will be at the Allen funeral Home with the Rec. A. C. Underwood in charge.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Pastors Steve Ailes and John Haines will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
