Sue Kemple, 79, of Culver passed away at 8:30AM on January 9, 2010 in Miller's Merry Manor in Culver

Sue was born on Oct 19, 1930 in Mishawaka, IN, one of 12 children born to Edward and Frances (Carpenter) Woodward.

She attended school in Leiters Ford and Culver.

She later met and fell in love with Joseph Arthur "Art" Kemple. They were married on Feb 11, 1948 at the Grace United Church of Christ in Culver . Art preceded her in death on April 30, 2006.

After starting their family, Sue and Art moved to Florida for a short time. In the early 60's Sue and Art moved their family to So. California where Art taught high school and Sue waitressed while raising their children.

In the 70's they started spending summers back in Culver, and eventually moved back to Culver after retirement. In 2003, they suffered the loss of their son Greg.

Sue enjoyed playing euchre, golf, and gardening. She and Art had fun taking their family on vacations, cruises and camping trips all around the country seeing many sights. Sue was a wonderful mother who will be sadly and deeply missed.

Sue is survived by her loving family: daughters - Connie Kemple, Judy Kemple, and Debra Kemple-Oliff, all of Culver, IN, and Nancy Harper of Sparks, NV; sisters - Pauline Archambeault, Violet Mae Mikesell and Gayla Uhler, daughter-in-law Patty Kemple, grandchildren - Kathy, Mike and Christy; and great-grandchildren - Christian, Lawae, Bella, and Leina.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Joseph Arthur "Art" Kemple, son - Arthur Gregory Kemple, brothers - Don, Edward "Bud", Richard "Woody", Ray, and Robert Woodward; and sisters - Margaret Cross, Opal Woodward, and Lucy Bennett.

A time of sharing memories with Sue's family will be held at the Odom Funeral Home in Culver on Friday, Jan 15, 2010 from 3:00 - 6:00PM EDT. Rev. Robin Keating will officiate funeral services at the Grace United Church of Christ, Culver , on Saturday, Jan 16, 2010 at 10:00AM EDT.
