1918, Dec 4 - SS Chadwick had traded his farm near Hemlock, Mich., for the Hotel Seaver at Ithaca, Mich. He says that it is an old established house, doing a good business. "Chad" is a hotel man of long expreience and is popular with the traveling public.
1919 Jul 9 - Mr. and Mrs. S S Chadwick and grandson, Dale FLorence, were here over Sunday on their way to Tuscola, Ill. "Chad" is back in thehotel business at Ithaca, Mich., 80 miles from Grand Rapids, where he is proprietor of the Hotel Seaver.
1920, Oct 20 - Mrs. and. Mrs. S S. Chawick of Ithaca, Mich, have been visiting in Culver this week. Mr. Chadwick has sol his hotel in Ithaca, but is looking out for another trade in that locality.
1922, Mar 29 - Since returning from their winter in Britt, Iowas, a few weeks ago Mr. and Mr.s Ss Chadwinck have been enjoying their visit with friends and relatives in Culver and vicinity. They left for their home in Ithaca, Mich.
1923 - Mar 28 - "Chad" Comes to Culver - Mr. and Mrs. Stehphen Chadwick were in Culver and vicinity over the week end ed route from a winter in FLordia to their home in Itheaca, Mich.

S. S. Chadwick, the son of James Montgomery Chadwick and Permelia Saunders Chadwick, was born March 3, 1854, in Washington county Pennsylvania and departed from this world on Dec 20, 1923, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 17 days.
He was the olders of nine children, five of whom are still living, These are: John H., an attorney of Tuscola, Illinois; Abraham L and Isacc Newton, agriculturists of Washington county Pennsylvania; Sadie Baglin, of Pittsbug, Pennsylvania; and Amie Gilson of Hanford, California.
The parents and children were members and regular attendants of the first Presbyterian church that was built west of the Alegheny mountains thorughout the time of their residence in that part of the world. In 1891, Mr. Chadwick was untied in marriage to Miss Catherine Burckett. Sixteen years of their happy wedded life were spen in Culver, Indiana, Mr. Chadwick was proprietor of a hotel.
From there the moved to Saginaw county, coming to Gratiot county five years ago. Ithaca residents remember Mr. Chadwick due to his connection, lating nearly three years, with the local hotel.
The fuenral took place December 22 from his residence, the body being placed in the mausoleum in the Ithaca cemetery
Other relatives, in addition to the three brothers-in-laws, dorrowing with the widow were: Mr. and Mrs. Philip Sickman, Mr. and mrs. Chas. Alexander, Mr. Lucas Burckett, and Mr. Guy McGinnis all of Culver, Indiana; Mrs. I. O. FLorence, Thompson, Iowa; an Mr. E. L.
