    W. H. Dalrymple, after an efficient service of over five years as local manager of the Central Union Telephone Co., has handed in his resignation to take effect as soon as another man can be sent here to take his place.

    "Dal" has taken a clerical position in the quartermaster's department at the academy.

    He has seen the local telephone business increase largely since he took charge and has been popular with the patrons of the company. Mr. Dalrymple's successor is Mr. Clifton of Gas City.

    DEATH OF W. H. DALRYMPLE

    Mr. Barclay, secretary,of the Odd Fellows lodge, last Sunday of the death in Mishawaka, of meningitis, of W. H. Dalrymple.

    Mr. Dalrymple was for a time manager of the local telephone office, later taking a position as accountant in the Q. M. department at the academy, a positions which he held for a couple months until last July, when he moved to Mishawaka.

    Four or five carloads of members of the Odd Fellows lodge attended the funeral yesterday afternoon.

    Mr. Dalrymple was one of the most active promoters of the Culver lodge in its organization, and a loyal worker in its interests.

    He was, moreover, a popular young man in the large circle of acquaintances which he acquired while resident here.

    The 15 members of Culver lodge, I. 0. 0. F., who attended the funeral, conducted the burial rites at cemetery in compliance with the desire of Mrs. Dalrymple.

    William Howard Dalrymple, 40 years old, 1119 Lincoln way E., died Sunday night at 6:10 o'clock following a three weeks' illness. He is survived by his wife, Phoebe B.: a daughter, Gertrude Charlotte, and two brothers, Albert O., of this city, and Fred V. of Hicksville, 0. Mr. Dalrymple was born in Hicksville, 0.. on Nov. 27, 1887, and came here seven months ago from Culver, Ind. He was employed as a stock accountant. Funeral services, which are to be held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, will be in charge of the Odd Fellows' lodge of Culver, Ind., and members of the Masonic lodge of Culver will act as escorts to the body. Rev. B. D. Beck will officiate and burial will be in Riverview cemetery. Mr. Dalrymple was the first noble grand and the first delegate to the Grand lodge of the I. 0. 0. F. lodge of Culver.
