Moves are necessary
Tennats of the Bank Building Forced to Temporary Quarters.
The building of the new bank building which will begin about the first of March
will cause considerable changing around in Culver once more.
The tennant of the bank building and building immediately north of the bank
will have
to move during the time the new building is being constructed.
These changes together with the many changes in business whch have happened within the past
few weeks, will make anyone whi has not been to Culver for six weeks feel like Rip VanWinkle
hemself.
For the Most parth, the locations of the tenants have been arranged for and are as follows:
The State Exchange Bank will move into the
Menser property
which has been occupied by the Johnson Tire Shop
Johnson moves to the American Legion Room. The Post will move to
the Warner building
which has been occupied by the Koontz Variety Store untill recently.
Doctors Mackey and Norris will locate in the rooms over the
D. H. Smith
and son. Shoe shop.
Final arrangments have not been completed for the
Masonic Lodge
Dr. Tallman will occupy the
Walter Hand property c
immediately back of Mikesell Brothers grocery store and across from the present
location of the post office.
It has not been diefinitely decided by the Western Union Telegraph Company just
where that office will move, but it is said by good authority that the company
is trying to get rooms immediately above the
Easterday undertaking rooms
These changes will all be made on or about the first of March.
The new building will accommodate these tenants when it is completed - Feb 11 1925
1925 - Feb. 25 - Dismanteling Operstions Begun on Bank Building
During the past week, dimantling operations have begun on the building by
Dr. Tallman and the Western Union, prepartory to the building program the
State Exchange Bank will soon begin.
The Western Union will move this week to the office rooms over the
Easterday Undertaking parlors, while Dr. Tallman will sone move to the
Hand property immediately back of the Mikesell Grocery.
The tearing down has been done on the second story of the building in the
rooms formetly occuiped by Dr. Tallman. As soon as the tenants are moved,
the building will be wrecked.
1925 - Oct 21 - Exterior of New Bank Is Nearing Completion
The exterior worl of the new State Exchange building is fast nearing completion
and about all that needs to be done yer is the putting in of the new sidewalk
which will be completed this week
Flooring is the item that is holding up the completion of the interior work.
It has been expected that this would be here longe before this but there seems
to have been some mix up in transit.
The bank officials are now planning on being in the new building by the first of
the year. Possibly, it will be a Christmas present.
