He was born Aug. 11, 1914 to Mose and Esther Mae Sparks Crutchfield

The Antioch High School graduate also attended school in Kirklin.

He and his wide moced to Connersville in 1934 and he had worked at local factories. They also had lived in Indianapolis foe five years while he worked at Wonder Bread.

In the late 1940s he became a partner in operating Martin Service in Connersville. He retired in 1976 to pursue interests in fishing, hunting and cutting wood. Survivors include his wife Pauline Morre Crutchfield, who he married May 30, 1934 and four children: Donald E. Crutchfield of Connersville, Steven J. Crutchfield of Walled Lake, Mich; Maria L. Crutchfield of Indianapolis and Gregory G. Crutchfield of Connersville; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two nieces.

He wa preceded in death by his parents; one infant son Thomas Dean Crutchfield in 1950 and another son Jeffery J. Crutchfield in 1995 and one brother Glavis N. Critchfield.

A private service will be at SHowalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel Connersville.

Burial will be at Dale cemetery. There will be no public calling.

Frances Pauline Crutchfield, 91, of Connersville, died Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2008 at her home.

She was born August 22, 1916 in Frankfort, IN, one of two children of Charles Edward and Mary Ellen Preble Krieg.

On May 30, 1934, she was married in Frankfort, IN to George Edward Crutchfield. For over 60 years, they had lived in Connersville where Mr. Crutchfield owned and operated Martin Service, Inc., a tire dealership. Mr. Crutchfield died September 8, 1999.

She was a member of St. Gabriel Church and St. Anne Altar Society.

Survivors include four children, Donald Crutchfield and wife Joyce of Connersville, Steven Crutchfield and wife Connie of Hartland, MI, Maria Crutchfield of Indianapolis and Gregory Crutchfield of Connersville; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two nieces. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Dean Crutchfield and Jeffrey J. Crutchfield, and a brother, Charles Edward Krieg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Stanley J. Herber at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 in St. Gabriel Church and burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
