Gordon Cultice  





"fill 'er up", "Gimme five", are the words that usually greet Gordon Cultice as he waits on a customer at the Marathon Service Station, of which he is manager.

Gordon was born in Hibbard, attended grade school at the old Shaw School, started his high school work in Culver, and was graduated from the Thorntown Township High School at Harvey, Ill.

He then worked for the Buda Motors in Harvey for a year, at the Academy here for a like period, after which he attended Tri-State College at Angola, Ill., for a year.

On Febraury 1, 1934 [sic another account in the culver citizen states Feb. 7, 1934 Harold Robinson became manager of the Linco Service Station], he became manager of the Linco Station, which is no known as the Marathon, where he was a cheery welcome for all.
