Franklyn Kinkade, 7722 Cornell av., marked his 40th service anniversary with the Commonwealth Edison company substation department Sept. 24.

He started in 1917 as an apprentice operator; later became a chief operator and reserve relief operator and is now an assistant engineer of operation in the Substation department.

Golf, bowling and fixing up his summer home in Culver, Ind., are Mr. Kinkade's favorite hobbies.
