Maxinkuckee Ice Company
1939 - six acres of land on the west shore of the Lake Makinckuckee have been improved
by Harry Medbourn who is offering the area for sale as a hotel site

1976 - The Pennsylvania Railroad
track was abandoned and lot owners on South Street and the west side of the lake purchased
the right-of-way between their property and the lake.
The
Maxinkuckee West Side Property Owners, Inc. was formed to procure and buy
up the railroad prperty along the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee from Plymouth St.
to the end of South Street ending at West Shore. Dr.

It original was a 3 bedroom Chicago bungalow with a 2-car garage. In 1991
they remodeled adding a new kitchen, air-conditioning and a dock.

1993 they had the house razed and rebuilt it for a total of seven bedrooms and a 6-car garage. Jeff Johnson from Artifacts designed the house and Carol Zartman built it. It took 2 years to complete. Over the 6-car agarage is a finished area for guests or live-in-help - an area for a kitchen and seperate entrance. An elevator is to be added in the future. - |
