Culver - William E. Smith, 95, of Methodist Memorial Home,
Warren, Ind. formerly of Culver, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday
in the home, where he had resided two years.
He was born May 29, 1876 in Darlington, Ind., and had lived
here from 1941 until two years ago.
He was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the
Tipton Lodge 32, F & A.M., Logansport and the South Bend
Scottish Rite
On July 21 1897 in Crawfordsville, he married Margaret L.
Cox, who died in 1959.
Surviving is a daughter Miss Helen J. SMith of the Methodist
Home, Warren.
Services will b e held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wesley United
Methodist Church, Re.v Earl W. Sharp, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery
Friends may call from noon until time of services Thursday
in the church. The Bonine Funeral Homer is in Charge of
arrangements.

Services Held Tuesday FOr Mrs. Margaret Smith
Mrs. Margaret L. Smith,82, of 1034 West Shore Drive, died Friday
morning at Parkview Hospital Plymouth, following an illness of
several weeks
Mrs. Smith was born near Paris, Kentucky Aig 6, 1875 and moved
with her parents to Crawforsville when a small child.
On July 21 1897 she was married to William E. Smith who aurvives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Helen, at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith lived in Michigan and various town in Indiana
where he was employed as a Pennsylvania Railroad agent, in
1922 they built their cottage of the West shore of Lake Maxinkuckee
spending their summers here until 1941 when Mr. Smith retired and
they moved here permanently
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Culver Methodist Church and had beem
a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Easterday Funeral Home with
Rev. Kenneth Sands, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating
Burial was in the Culver Cemetery- Feb 11 1959 Citizen
Fifty-Fith Wedding Anniversary Observed
Mr. and Mrs. Willam E. SMith of Long Point observed
their fifty-fith wedding anniversary on Monday, July
21.
On Sunday, they were presented a lovely bouquet of
flowers at the church service of the Methodist
Church.
Married at a service at high noon on July 21, 1897 in
Crafordsville, Indiana.
Mr. Smith served as an agent for the Pennslyvania
Railroad COmpany until his retirement in 1941.
In 1922 they built a summer cottage on Lake Maxinkuckee
and eleven years ago they came here from South Bend and
have lived here permanently since retiring.
They have one daughter, Helen at home.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Smith enjoy fairly good health.-
