    Maryann Sherman Obituary
Maryann Sherman was born on April 26, 1932, the third of the five children of George and Elizabeth Mlnarik. As was common at the time, she was born on the family farm near Plymouth, Indiana, with the aid of a mid-wife.

She graduated from Knox High School in 1949, having skipped a grade in elementary school. Shortly after graduating from High School, Maryann made her move from the country to the city of South Bend. She enrolled in secretarial school and earned her room and board by serving as a live-in nanny and housekeeper for a professional family there. After finishing her secretarial courses, she was hired by Studebaker, where she worked for several years. She also worked as an executive secretary at Bendix, twice, and in between, at Associates. She always enjoyed the challenge of office work.

Maryann loved to dance, and at a dance, she met the love of her life, Richard Sherman. They married, and together, raised three children, Cheryl, Rodney, and Janice. They were married until Richard died in 1992.

Favorite memories were made at Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana, and on the many camping vacations the family enjoyed, always somewhere near a lake. Maryann was an avid water-skier, and she skied every sunny weekend of every summer, for many years. She experienced her final skiing adventure on Father's Day, 2021, at age 89!

Once her children were grown, Maryann attended Indiana University at South Bend, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Business. She and Richard had begun purchasing rental properties, and she managed the business aspects, while Richard was responsible for renovating and repairing the properties. After Richard's untimely death, Maryann managed ALL aspects of their rental properties until the last one was sold in 2023.

Maryann outlived her four siblings, Betty, George, Jr., Marjorie, and Evelyn, whom she missed very much, but is survived by her three children, Cheryl (John) Eiszner, Rodney (Susan Spier) Sherman, and Janice Adkins. She enjoyed her seven grandchildren, Julia Eiszner, Sara Eiszner (deceased), Melissa (Jon) Scott, Grant Sherman, Adam Adkins (Sarah Scott), Rider Adkins (Kaleigh Byrd), and Olivia Adkins. She was delighted by her four great grandchildren, Savannah Scott-Adkins, Vivian Scott, Henry Scott, and Theodore Scott
