Services Held Saturday for George McGaffey

George Irwin McGaffey, age 80, Route 1, Culver died Thursday morning at Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, where he had been a patient since Monday

Born in Bement, Ill., on March 20, 1880, he came with his parents to a farm west, of Culver, in 1896 and has resided in this community since.

Mr. McGaffey spent his life farming and carried milk into Montery for the Pure Milk Associaiton from 1924-1954.

On Feb. 4, 1903 he was married to Geneva Ellen Faetters who precededed him in death on July 2 1932

Surviving are two sons, Garrett Noble McGaffey and Lawrece Ward McGaffey , Culver; two foster brothers, Thomas Gulvere, San Francisco, Calif. and William William Flokers, North Judson; five grandchildren and foour great grandchildren.



Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Easterday Funeral Home. Rev. V. L. Palmer, pastor of the Emmanuel Evangelical United bretern Church, officiated and burial was at the Culver Masonic Cemetery. - 8 Mar 1961 - Citizen
