1951 - Jul 4 - W. S. Hiser of Indianapolis has written a welcome comment on Lake Maxinkuckee. He had called attention to the fact that the "Orchard House," well-known East Shore, Marmon-Fessler residence, is more than a half-century old. The old style building, equipped with old furniture is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Hiser, Indianapolis Ford Auto Dealer, and Professor and Mrs W. S. Hiser, both former members of the Manual Training High School faculty. The Hisers are relatives of Daniel W. Marmon, deceased, who erected the picturesque Lake Maxinkuckee home. Mr. Marmon, it will be remembered, was a manufacturer of flour mill machinery and the Marmon automobile.
