Oberlin's Gorcery Sold to W. Magee
Ben W> Oberlin has sold his grocery and market to Walter Magee, manager
of the Kroger Store at Plymouth, with the new owwner to tak possession
Moanday March 6.
Mr. Oberlin has been in business here for 16 years coming here from Hamlet.
Besides operating the grocery store he started the Ben Franklin store and built
the building that business now occupies under the owenership of Mr. Taylor.
Mr. Oberlin plas to oped a real eastate office in the bank building and operate
his farm west of town and another in Illniois. He will make an announcement
regarding the real estate business later.
Mr. Oberlin has retained the operation of the cold storage locker plant in the store,
while Mr. Magee will handle the processing operations.
Mr. Magee, who has been connecte with the Plymouth store for 13 years and
has a successful knowledge of the retail business plans to move his family to
Culver as soons as a house can be found.
