Ernest Orwin Byrd, age 77 formerly of Culver, died Monday morning at the home of his son, George Byrd, in South Bend after an illness of three weeks.

Mr. Byrd was born at Culver Sept, 17, 1882, and had spent hi s entire life here until three years ago when he went to South Bend to live with his son.

He was an electrician and conducted his own business in Culver for many years . His wife, Sarah Edna , passed away Nov. 19, 1953.

Surviving are a son, George; two sisters Mrs. Gertrude VanSchoiack , Lombard, Ill. and Mrs. James Dugan, Oxnard, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Linda Byrd.

Mr. Byrd was a member of the Culver Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today.

Rev. Kendall E. Sands, pastor, will officiate and burial will be at the Culver Masonic Cemetery.

Sarah Enda Byrd Taken by Death - At Age 73

Mrs Sarah Edna Byrd, age 73, lifelong resident of Marshall county, died Thursday evening at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth after an illness of three months.

Mrs. Byrd, wife of E. O. Byrd veteran Culve electerical contractor, was born in Plymout on Oct 17, 1880 and came to Culver to reside when a small child.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Culver Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Rev. Harry Campbell, pastor of the church, officiated and interment was at the Culver cemetery.

Mrs. Byrd was also a member of the WOnmen's Society of Christain Service and of Sticthery Club.

Surviving are her husband Ernest Ora Byrd, and a son George, of South Bend. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lorraine Byrd, and granddaughter, Linas also survive.
