    Services for Dr. WIllima M. Matthews, 72, Culver, formerly of Indianapolis, an anesthesiologist, will be at 11 a. m. Aug. 20 in St. Plus Z Catholic Church.

    Calling will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 19 in Leppert & Hurt Mortuary.

    Burial will be Calvary Cemetery.

    He did Aug. 16.

    Early in his carrerr he practiced medicine with his father, the late Dr. Bernard J. Matthews for 11 years. In 1960, he became an anethesiologist at Indiana University Hospeital. He worked there 30 years and was vice chairman of the anesthesiology department 11 years, retiring in 1990. He also had been a professor of anethesiology at IU School of Medicine.

    He was a 1944 graduate of Indiana University and a 19546 graduate of the IU School of Medicine.

    He was a member of the American Medical Association and had been past president of the Indiana Society of Anesthesiologists. He was the second recipient of the state group's service award.

    He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World Wade II

He married Alice Bambrough
