Cafe Max 113 South Main

1985- ? Cafe Max - 30 June 1985- ?, Susie Mahler

Cafe Max Annex Upstairs 1990's -? she bought the majority of the 60 seats and 30 tables of the LS Ayres Tea Room of Indianapolis that was auctioned off in 1990. These reamined un-noticed until the furniture was moved down to the new annex at 113 S. Main. when the Indiana State Museum was re-creating the tea room and was in the process of preparing to custom-make reproductions of the furniture when Richard Ford remembered the Cafe Max furniture and contacted Susie Mahler about retainting them for the museum. Tho she did not want to let them go she did and the museum replaced them for the Cafe Max.

I as a kid remember going to LS Ayres with mother shopping on a monthly basis and we would met her sister there - once and awhile we would go to the "tea Room" to eat. -
