Home Grocery had possibly two locations the first one was at 208 Main St aka 214 Main St This was about 1916.


and the other was at 113 Main st. where the Cafe Max and Culver Reservations LLC is now at. It was home to the Home Theater, Werner's Jewelery and the Telephone Exchange office [upstairs], Oberlin's Appliance Kline' Appliance also.


Home Grocery - Medbourn/Will McClane 1922- - 
    1924 - 12 March - Culver Citizen - Charles Medbourn captured a large tarantual from a stalk of bananas in the Medborn and Mclane Store

    1925 - Jan 13 - Charles Medbourn and Will McLane have sold their grocery and meat market to A. W. Zechiel and Charles Alexander

    1925 - Feb 18 - Bud Long who has been on the delivery route of the Homer Grocery resigned his position and has gone to Lognsport to work for Jim Barnes

    1926 - Feb. 25 - Notice! We ae installing a new refrigerting machine this week-end and for thar reason we are a little handicapped. However, the machine will be duly installed by the first of next week and the we will be better able to serve you with the best of meats and dairy products.

    1825 0 Oct 14 - Notice - We wish to announce that we have sold our grocery store, the Home Gorcery to C. M. Studebaker of Fulton. We Have every reason to believe that our successor is a fine business mand and one our customers will be glad to trade with. We wishe to thank the many people of the community who have traded with us during our short time in the grocery store and we hope that these same customers will contimure to trade at the Home Grocery. We WIll appreciate prompt settlement of all our accounts in this business as we was to get all settled up as soon as possible - A. D. Zechiel.


Home Grocery Claude Studebaker  

    C. M. Studebaker Buyr Zechiel Grocey Store
      The Home Grocery has again changd hands. This time, C. M. Studebaker of FUlton will take the reign of affairs. Mr. Studebaker comes to Culver with a big gocery experience behind him, having operated a gorecery for the past twenty years

      He is said to be a very fine business man and one that will make a good addition to the buisness crcles of this city.

      A. W. Zechiel purchased the grocery from Medbourn and McLane last spring bu because of his helat he is unable to contiue in this line of work, He is undecided as yet what he will do - 14 Oct 1925


    BUYS Culver GROCERY - Claude Studebaker, who for many years operated a grocery and general store at Fulton and who later was the local representative for the A. H. Perfect Co., of Huntington, has purchased the Home Grocery at Culver of A. W. Zechiel. Mr. Zechiel purchased the grocery last spring of Medbourne and McLane, but because of ill health was forced to sell. Mr. Studebaker has taken possession and will move his family to Culver within the next few days. - The News-Sentinel, Friday, October 16, 1925

    PAT McMAHAN BUYS GROCERY AT Culver C. M. Studebaker, formerly of Rochester, has sold the Zechiel grocery at Culver to Pat McMahan, who now is in charge of it. - The News-Sentinel, Monday, October 19, 1925


1925 - Oct 28 - Buys Grocery Store -
    Chas. ALexander, Owner, Crabb and Sndyer Operate Homer Grocery

    Chas Alexander closed a deal this morning whereby he became the owner of the Homr Grocery.

    The two parties had been toaking over the proposition for several days but an agreement was just reached last night and the papers were signed this morning.

    Crabb and Snyder haver consented to manafe the grocery department while Mr. Alexander will continue to operate the neat shop.

    Messers Crabb and Snyder were in business in Culver in what is now the Sanders restaurat up until the first of September. They have a great many of friends in Culver and it is expected that they will do a good buisness in their new location.

    Mr Snyder is not a beginner in the grocery work for he was associated with the Medbourn and McLane store for many years and during that time built up a knowledge of the business that till be quit beneficial.


1926 - Feb 10 - J. C. Conklin Purchases The Home Gorcery Stock
    Announcement was made Wedensday by J. C. Conklin, proprietor of the Corner Grocery, that he has pirchased the grocery stock of the Home Grocer and will move in that building within the next three weeks.

    This move was made necessary but the land owner of the corner store room who gave Mr. Conklin notice that he would have to move within the next three months.

    Just what the corner store room will be used for in the future has not been made puiblice by the owner.

    As a result of this merger of two stocks of groceries it is necessary for the Home Grocery to sell at a big sacrifice its stock to make room for the other stock.

    This could of been the Menser Building.


1926 - Jun 9 - Home Market E. W. Price

1927 - Jan 19 - Forrest Geiselman of Kewanna has purchased the Home Market from Ed Rannells and plans to put the market in first class condition. He has had considerable along this line
