Oliver C. “Dick” HARING, 80, 1146 South St., Culver , died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Hospital of Marshall
County, Plymouth.
He was born in Kewport, Ky., to Claude and Luella CHAMBRLAIN HARING. On Nov. 20, 1938, in Argos, he married
Mildred MARTIN, who survives. He lived in Gary and Portage prior to moving to Culver . He was a 1932 graduate of
Argos High School. He also graduated from the South Bend Business College. He was an industrial engineer for U.S.
Steel Gary Works before retiring in 1972.
Surviving with his wife are a brother, Carl HARING, Lexington, Ky.; a niece, Arlene SAMUELSON, Lebanon; and two
great-nephews, Jay B. SAMUELSON, Auburn, and Chris A. SAMUELSON, Evansville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with Rev. Earl LIGHTFOOT officiating.
Burial will be at the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. and after 12 noon Wednesday

Culver - Mildred Haring, 91, 1146 South St., Culver , died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 12:51
p.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a two week illness.
Mildred was born March 28, 1914 in Marshall County, to Earl and Pearl (Singrey) Martin. She
grew up in the Argos area and returned to Culver in 1972 after her retirement.
In Argos on Nov. 20, 1938, she married Oliver C. (Dick) Haring, who died Nov. 20, 1994.
From 1933 to 1938, she was employed with State Exchange Bank, and joined Gary National
Bank in 1940, where she became an officer of the bank, and manager of several branch banks
in the area, until her retirement in 1972.
She graduated from Argos High School in 1932. She then graduated from the American Institute
of Banking, and served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president of the Gary chapter.
She was chairman of the Educational Committee for several years, and attended three national
conventions: Richmond, Va., Dallas, Tex., and Atlanta, Ga. Mildred was a member of the
National Association of Bank Women, a board member and treasurer of the Gary YWCA for
several years.
Survivors include one niece: Arlene Samuelson of Lebanon, Ind., and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and spouse.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grossman Funeral
Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be Wednesday, July 27, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Earl Lightfoot
officiating.
Burial will take place in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
