Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Taylor Will observe their 40th wedding
anniversary Sunday, June 1st with open house from 7:00 to
10:00 a t their home, 900 Lake Shore Drive . Hosts wil be their
childre n Mr. and Mrs.
William
Snyder of Culver and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor of
Bloomington.
Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were married in Finidlay, Ohio June 3,
1929 and have lived in Culver 25 years coming here from
Monroe, Michigan. They were with the S. S. Kresge
Company for 15 years and lived in 6 cities during that time.
They have 5 grandchildren, Barbara 3 and Robert 2.

Prominent Local Businessman Dies
Wilber (Bob) Taylor, 64, who owned and operated Taylor's Ben Franklin Variety Stare,
passed away at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, where
he had been a patient for one week.
Mr. Taylor had lived here for 25 years, after coming to Culver from Monroe, Michigan
where he had been associated with the Kresge Co. for a number of years.
Mr. Taylor was born June 3, 1905 at Ord, Nebraska to George and Maude (Laverty) Taylor.
He was married June 3, 1929 at Findley, Ohio to Beatrice Harris, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara J. Snyder, Culver , one son, Robert H. Taylor,
Bloomington, Ind. , one brother, Harold Taylor, Lincoln, Neb., and five grandchildren.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Henry H. Culver Lodge
No. 617 F. A. M. , South Bend Valley Scottish Rite, Rochester Lodge No. 2110, B.T.O.E.,
past worthy patron of the Emily Jane Culver Chapter Order of Eastern Star, past president
of the Culver Lions Club, and twice the president of Culver Union Township Chamber of
Commerce.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at the Wesley United Methodist
Church, Culver, with Rev. Earl Sharp, pastor, and Rev. Carl Q. Baker, of North Manchester,
Ind., and former pastor, oficiating.
Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery. The Easterday-Bonlne Funeral Home is, in
charge of arrangements, where Eastern Star and Masonic memorial services were
conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. - THURSDAY, JUNE 26, 1969
