He served in the Army from Feb, 1960 to Feb 1963. March 20, 1963 - We welcome back Robert Waite who has been stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. After three years in the Army, he is back at the CMA Barber shop.

Memorial services for Robert Eugene Waite, 75, of Grants, N.M., will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, Grants, at 10:30 a.m.

Bob was born to Clifford and Anna Waite in Plymouth, Ind., on Sept. 30 1936.

He passed away on Aug. 2, 2012.

Bob grew up in Culver, Ind., where he was first a barber and later was employed as a U.S. Postal Worker.

After his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, he moved to South Bend, Ind., where he lived for 12 years.

Bob moved to Grants to be with his daughter and her family in 2004.

He made many friends and told his daughter that moving here was the best thing he ever did.

Bob dearly loved his church, the First United Methodist. He was active in his Sunday school class and also served on the Board of Trustees.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Kendrick; son-in-law, James; and granddaughter, Anna; one sister, one sister-in-law, and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Anna Waite; one sister, and three brothers.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 478, Grants, N.M. 87020.

Linda L. Start and Robert E. Waite Wed In Saturday Ceremony

In a single ring ceremony at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, March 23, at the Culver Methodist Church, Mrs. Linda L. Start became the bride of Robert E. Waite. Dr. Ronald Williams, pastor of the church, officiated in the presence of the immediate families.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Orpha McFarland of 704 Neuva Gorda St., Culver, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Anna Waite, 461 Liberty St., Culver.

The bride was attired in a three-piece beige suit with beige accessories and she wore a red rose corsage,

Mrs. Edward Kowatch, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, wore a beige dress with beige accessories and her corsage was of pink roses. LaMar Waite was his brother's best man.

The newly married couple left for a short wedding trip after which they will be at home at 461 Liberty St., Culver.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Waite are graduates of Culver high school and he is employed at Culver Military Academy as a barber. Mrs. Waite is employed as a retary at The Culver Inn. - Citizen Mar 27 1963
