From the Logansport Daily Journal page 3 dated Aug. 27, 1882:

free to the new line thorugh our county. The estimated cost of this right of way is
from $7,000 to $10,000 and it is proposed to raise the amount by subscription. A
consideraable portion of this subscription has already been secured, and a committee
appointed for that purpose will make an effort to raise the remainder during the
present week...

was found in the abstract for 419 S. Main St. the Burns property

deed dated Mar 14, 1904 this shows James McQuire as owner of 119 W. Mill |
Its is also mentioned in "One Township Yesteryears - "Old Grandpa MC GUIRE."
He lived in what is one of the oldest dwellings in Culver, a low-built house,
the second west of the Evangelical Church.
1903- Nov 19 - S. S. Smith had moved into the Mcguire property
west of the Evangelical church
1906 Sanborn Map - The lot on the corner of Mill and Ohio Street - only
that house is pictured it is indeed the same building structure
as there today with some modifications. |
