The building is being renovated - at street level it will revert back to two store fronts - tho by early information the Hardware only used one section and the other was mainly used as a storage area for the hardware and did not contain another buisness back in the "old days"

Care is been taken to respect the history of the building.

The First Tenant -

The First Tenant Will locate in the basement with the entrance being on the Madison Street side.

The basement has been renovated -

It has been cleaned out and and the walls have been pressure-washed and said to be the cleanest it's been in 100 years.

Among changes in the space, a will be cleaning and tuck-pointing the fieldstone making up the outer walls, opening up the original windows (most of which had been boarded up), addition of a sliding door out to the courtyard, which will allow customers to bring bicycles easily into the shop by utilizing a new ramp from the sidewalk. The original "human" sized door, facing onto Madison, is still present and will be restored as well....

2019 - The Collective - Small Buisness Incubator Danielle Maverick & Whitney Alvis Grand Opening - Dec 7. To be small retail shops; organizations, online stores, consignments (percentage of sale to for use of space), shared workspaces, and a a place to host meeting workshops and events. It will have an open, mixed concept making occupants visible to every one who visits. Desks will be included, WI-FI and worshop for meeting spaced. There will be a checkout system for all of the vendors. Physical space will be avaialble to Desplay information, "120 South Main" can be used for a business mailing address which also facilitates advertising on Google.

2024 - Three Bird Layne opened in the fall of 2024 inside what was once the old hardware store You will find gifts, art supplies, inspiration, and many of my favorite things inside the shop. You'll also find my studio + workshop space
Liz Lamoreux - I'm a writer and artist who has been teaching about mindfulness and creativity online and in-person for more than 15 years. My small family moved back to Indiana after 20 years on the west coast because we just couldn't stay away from this small town I love so much. My kid is a student at Culver Academy and my husband teaches there too. And I'm living a dream into reality with this space where people can come and share stories and make things and find inspiration and connection.




This is the cement building/Garage behind the Main street building it is one whole property with 2 buildings - for a while in the 1960's it bore the address of 108 E. Madison.
