Kosterman Opens Watch Repair and Jewelry Store

    Joseph V. Kosterman has opened a fine new retail jewlery store and watch repair shop at the northeast corner of Main and Madison streets.

    The new establishment fills a long felt want in the community.

    For the past two years Mr. Kosterman has operated a watch repair buisness in LaPorte. Previous to that he managed a jewelery store in Monticello.

    Mr. Kosterman is welcomed to Culver as a 1946 graduate of the horological division of Bradley University at Peopria, Ill., which is recongnized as the leading department of watch making connected with any American instituiton of higher learning.

    The Kostermans, who plan to move to Culver from LaPorte within a month or so, have four children: Doug, 5; Mark, 5; Joam, 3; and Jane , 1. The are members of th Roman Catholic Church.

    Mr. Kosterman is "Vince" to his intimates, during World War II served as a litter bearer with the infantry medical corps for fivve years, three of which were spent in New Guinea in the South Pacific campaign.

    During his residence in Monticella he became a member of the American Legion and the Eagels - 3 Sep 1953 - Citizen

    Mr. Kosterman was born on August 28,1919 in Racine to John B. and Oneita Kosterman.

    He was married to the former Faris Davison.

    Surviving are his wife, Faris, two sons, Douglas Kosterman and Mark Kosterman, both at home; two daughters and one son-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Joan) Helfrich of Madison and Jane Kosterman at home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis B. (Bernadine) Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony R. (Ursula) Stetka, all of Racine; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert H. (Rosemary) Kosterman, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence R. (Gloria) Kosterman, all of Racine, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome (June) Kosterman and Mr. and Mrs. Mark(Mary) Kosterman, all of California; uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

    Mr. Kosterman's body has been donated to Medical Science at the University of Colorado.

    A Memorial Mall will be offered at Holy Name Church on Saturday, March 8 at 9a.m.---Racine Journal Times Mar,7,1975
