1904 - Oct 6 - Cook Bros. Dispose of Hardware
    Last week Cook Bros. sold their hardware stock to Marbaugh Bros., of Monterey. Taking in part payment of 120-acre from one-half-mile north of Monterey.
    ,br> The stock was invoiced Wedensday, and Mr. V. E. Follmor, who has been with Marbaugh Bros. for the past year, has been placed in charge until difinite arrangements are made.

    If they conclude to carry on the business themselves, which is quite likely, one of the Marboughs will move to Culver.

    Frank & Will Cook have not decided what they will do, but in whatever venture they may embark the people of this community, we feel sure will wish them the best of success.


1904 - Notice
    The following letter has been sent to all the whole sale houses, having an account with Cook Bros., hardware dealers of this place, after which if everything is found satisfactory the new firm Marbaugh Brs. of Monterey will take charge of the business:

    The Cook Brothers" stock has been invoiced, and before said stock is turned ofer to Marbaugh Bros., it is requested that you send an itemized statemen of your account to both Marbaugh Bros of Monterery, Ind. and Frank Cook, of Culver, Ind.

1904 - Oct 20 - Urias Menser has temporary charge of the Cook Bros. Hardware store

1904 - Dec. 8 - An inventory was taken last week of the Cook Bros. hardware stock by Sheriff Bondurant assisted by John Weiss, of Bremen, Gerorge Engle of Plymouth, and Urias Menser and Charles Hayes of Culver. The stock will be sold as soon as an order from the court can be obtaine. This is one of the best locations for a good live up to date hardware store there is in this part of the state and we predict that the bidding will be spirited from start to finish. What we need here is a man of means and good business qualifications

    Business of the Late Firm of Cook Bros. to Be Sold January 1

    On Tuesday, January 3, 1905, the stock of hardware, will be sold in bulk to the highest bidder.

    The sale will be held here at Culver between one and four o'clock p.m.

    The appraised value of the stock is 3089.24 and is in good condition.

    This is an exceptional opportunity for a live, energetic business man with sufficient means to keep a good assortment of goods always on hand.

    A main wiith means and business qualifications can find no better opening nor a more hearty welsome by a progressive farming community.

    A man without meas or experience will net meet with much encouragement from out people.


1904 - Dec 22 - Notice of Trustee's Sale
    Notice is hereby given that the undersigned trustees in bankruptcy in the matter of the bankruptcy of Cook Bros. of Culver, Indiana will on
    Tuesday, January 3, 1905,
    Between the hours of one o'clock p.m. and four o'clock p.m. of said day, at the store building lately occupied by said bankrupts at Culver, Indiana, offer for sale under the order of referee in Bankrupcuy, the entiire stock of hardware, agricultural implements, etc, now contained in said store buildinnnn to the highest biidder for cash.

    Said stock of goods had been inventoried and appraised in the sum of #3089.24, and will be sold in bulk. The budiness is in a good location and anyone seeking a good business location cannot afford to miss this opportunity. The inventory is in the hand of the Trustee at his office in the Plymouth State Bank Block, at Plymouth, Indiana, wehre the same may be examined. Said stocok may be examined of day of sale.

1904 - Dec 29 - Sheriff Bondurant, trustee in bankruptcy for Cook Bros.; hardware and William Matthew, his attorney, were here Saturday settling up with those indebted to the hardware company here was a large crowd in waiting throughout the entire day and everything passed off quietly and to the satisifaction of nearly everyone. A few differences appeared but were disposed of with apparent justice to both debtor and creditor. Messrs. Bondurant and Matthew were as lenient in their settlements as the law would permit. The next step in the proceedings will be the sale of the stock which will take place her at Culver, January 3, 1904.

1905 - Jan 5 - Hardware Stock is Sold
    Cook Bros. Hardware Establishment Bid in For J. F. Weiss, of Bremen

    The stock of hardware formerly owned by Cook Bros. was sold on Tuesday by the trustess, C. A. Bondurant.

    The stock was invoiced at $3,070 and was bid on by C. E. Fervert, of Nappanee, for $2,800.

    The stock was at once turned over to J. F. Weiss of Bremen, who is the real owner, and will give his personel attention to the business.

    Mr. Weiss is a man of may years; experience in the hardware line, is progressinve and a great husler and above all a man thoroughly reliabe.

    He will move here with his family as soon as a suitable residence can be secured.
    br> The hardware was opened for business in less than ten minutes after the successful bidder's name was announced, and we hope it will ramain open and do a successful business vor many years to come.


1905 - Jan 12 C. A. Bondourant, trustee in bankruptcy for the Cook Btos' Hardware, says that all notes and accounts not collected otherwide will be sold at auction to the highest bidder, as such notes and accounts must be disposedof, beinf a part of the assets of the firm - Citizen.

1905 - Jan 12 - J. F Weiss, purhased the hardware stock of Cooks Brothers at Culver, at the reiceiver's sale Tuesday.
