WEISS, John Frank was born June 26, 1861 in John Frank Weiss BIRTH 26 JUN 1861 Madison, St Joseph / Bremen, Marshall County, Indiana DEATH 7 OCT 1952 Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California son of George W. Weiss and Elizabeth Kinzie.
    He was first employed as a hardware store merchant and then later as a salesman by the Monitor Stove and Range Company. He retired as an insurance agent. He affiliated with Euclid Lodge April 4, 1916 from Nappanee Lodge No. 566, Nappanee, Indiana.

    Father of City Woman Succumbs in Lest L.A.

    John F. Weiss, 91, of West Los Angles, father of Mrs. S. E. Schrader of San Bernardino, died Tuesday at his home.

    Funeral services were donducted Friday afternoon in Westwood.

    He had lived in West Los Angles the last 20 years.

    A native of Indiana, Weiss is also survived by his wife, Mary Ann; another daughter, Mrs. W. J. Leinweber, Ocean Park, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. - County Sun San Bernardino, California Oct 13, 1952.

    Fromer Culver Woman Dies WHile Asleep

    The death of Mrs. John F. Weiss at Crown Point, Ind. while asleep is announced.

    The Weiss family came to Culver in 1905.

    Mr. Weiss purchased the defunct hardware store of the Cooks, later selling to Goss & Replogle.

    In connection with Erza Hawkins he established a furniture store in the Osborn Block. Disposing og his interest in this he became a salesman for a furnace manufacture, his family moving to their former home in Naperville, Ill.

    The two daughters are married.

    Mrs Weiss, nee Berger was born in Bremen. - Mar 30 1927 - Citizen

1905 - Jan 19 John F. Weiss has premanently opened the hardware and is ready for business. He had returned to Bremen for a few days to arrange for moving his family here, which he will do as soon as a suitable residence can be obtained
    Mr. John F. Weiss will move his family into the Arthur Waggoner house for the present.


1905 - Jan 26 - J. F. Weiss of the Cash Hardware, went to Bremen Monday. He is moving into the Arthur Wagoner house this week

1905 - Feb 2 - J. F. Weiss went to Plymouth Thursday, where he met his wife and daughters, who came from Napirville, Ill. They are now installed in their new home

1906 - Aug 23 - J. F. Weiss and family are packing their household goods prepariatory to moving to Naperville, Ill., where they will reise. Mrs Weiss and daughters will leave tomorrow, stopping over Sunday in Rochester, but Mr. Weiss will not go until next week. Until January he will be here more or less of the time looking after the store business, then he will go on the road as state representative of the Malleable Steel Range company of South Bend. At present he will ac as assistant state agent. - - Citizen
