Hattie A. Hale Dies At 86 After Illness

Mrs. Hattie Alice Hale, age 86, died Friday afternoon, July 6. at her home at 1290 East Shore Drive after an illness of five months.

The daughter of Samuel and Frances VanSchoiack Wise, Mrs. Hale was born at Culver , Lake Maxinkuckee, on Sept. 6, 1875, where she lived until her marriage to Frank E Hale, after which the couple lived in St. Joseph, Mich., and Terre Haute for a number of years.

They returned to Culver in 1915 and she has resided here since. Her husband died in 1945.

Mrs. Hale was a member of a Methodist Church in Terre Haute, the P E O organization for scholarships for young girls, the Order of Eastern Star at Terre, Haute and the Terre Haute Daughters of Nile.

Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Mary Alice Hadley, Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Lillian Goss, Culver .

The body was taken by the Easterday Funeral Home in Culver to the Martin Tearman Funeral Home in Terre Haute where services were held Monday and and burial was made at the Highland Lawn Cemetery at Terre Haute. - Culver Citizen - July 11, 1962

      Funeral Services for Oliver Hale McCrory, 25 years old, 921 South Fifth , who died last Sunday morning at Union hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Martin Tearman Funeral Home.

      The Rev. R. Ralph Jones officiated and interm ent was in Highland Lawn Cemetery. McCrory attended the Laboratory school and Culver Military Academy and w as a member of the Methodist Temple. He was also a member of the Poet’s Study club and had authored a book of poems.

      Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Lillian Hale Goss of Terre Haute, and the grandm other, Mrs. Hattie A. Hale of Culver, Ind
