Charles M. Kesmodel Jr.



Owned the Grovertown Truck Stop. Inc. & Corner Tavern at Culver at one time Kesmodel, Charles M. Jr, of Fort Myers, FL entered eternal life on May 30, 2023.

Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Margaret W. Kesmodel of Lexington, KY.

Charles volunteered for the submarine Service, U.S. Navy, and was a veteran of the Korean war. After receiving his honorable discharge, he entered Marshall University, Huntington, WV, graduating with a bachelors degree in marketing in May, 1958.

He was married to Wilma Jane Martin on September 7, 1956, in Charleston, WV.

Following graduation he was employed by two major oil companies serving in marketing management for twenty years.

In 1979 Charles moved to Culver, IN and with his wife purchased and managed several business holdings.

He and his wife retired and moved to Florida in 2003.

Charles was a lifetime member of the VFW and member of the American Legion.

During his business career he was named to Who's Who in America in the Midwest, served on the board of directors of several business associations and held a commission of an Honorable Kentucky Colonel.

Charles was a member of the Village Church, and Shell Point retirement community.

Charles is survived by his wife Wilma, three sons, one daughter, one brother, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

Cremains will be placed in a crypt, Shrine of Faith, Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Lexington, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 110 Conn Terrace Lexington, Kentucky 40508, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Wilma Jane Martin Kesmodel, 86, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for the past 20 years, formerly of Culver, IN, entered eternal life on Friday, September 29, 2023 in Fort Myers.

She was born January 12, 1937 in Russellville, WV to Lloyd and Bernice Martin, now deceased.

Wilma was of the Lutheran faith and attended The Village Church, Shell Point Retirement Community.

With her husband, Wilma owned and managed several business holdings in northern Indiana before retiring to Florida.

She is survived by her loving children, Charlie Kesmodel, Matthew Kesmodel, Mark Kesmodel, and Amy Kesmodel; two brothers, two sisters, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles M. Kesmodel, Jr. after 66 years of marriage.

There will be no visitation. Cremains will be placed in a crypt, Shrine of Faith, Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Lexington, KY.

Private family services will be held at a future date to be determined.
