Also had address of 1352 East Shore Drive proabably assigned to the store.

1897 - December the issue of the Culver Herald dated 31 Dec 1897 - told of the fire that destroyed several buildings at Maxinkuckee Landing. One being a building that housed the grocery and confectionary store operated by Frank Fernandez and the butcher shop which was next door.

    After buying out Chester Bigley's interest, Guy Bigley and his wife, Mabel, operated the store.

    about 1932-1933 - The Bigley's sold the store to Sarah Jane Rector.

    A large water wheel that sat near the road and powered the water from the artesian well for the store.

    Also John Bigleys writes of another building in his story on the Maxinkuckee Launches:
      Captain L. S. Finney, who owned the East Side MAY and the CAROL, had his headquarters at the landing. He was the one that I knew in my youth and admired so much. In a small building on the lot of my father, Guy Bigley, had his shop, office and living quarters. He hired Dick Louden to run the East Side May and Eddie Boberg to take telephone messages and to keep the books. Captain Finney always ran the Carol as it was the fastest launch.

1961 / 19701972 - Sep 13 - James Rocap, Indianapolis Attorney Buys Home On East Shore Drive

    Mr. and Mrs. James Rocap of Indianapolis have purchased the former Lake Maxinkuckee summer home of the Homer Rogers at 1346 East Shore Drive.

    The property recently has been owned by James Puett of Remmington, Ind., who operaed the Camp Maxinkuckee for Girls at that location.

    Mr. Rocap is an attorney and there are six children in the family

    They are members of St. Mary's of the Lake Church.

The two-story brick building was razed in September 1969 to make way for a second lake cottage to be built on the lot. The aerial view shows the original Bigley cottage still remained on the lakefront


c. 1986 - The Rocap's also purchased the Manor Market property across the road to the east after it burnt on 28 December 1985
