James E. Rocap, Jr. - 1917-2006 - Military: Capt., Army of U.S., 1941-1946

    James E. Rocap, Jr.,’65, Indianapolis, Indiana, a former Regent of the College, died January 21, 2006 at age 88.

    A graduate of Notre Dame and the Indiana University Law School, he served during World War II in the European Theater as a Captain in Air Combat Intelligence.

    After a seven-year stint as a state court prosecutor, he went into private practice with his father, his brother and, later, his son.

    He was the founder of the St. Pius X Council and the Monsegnor Downey Council of the Knights of Columbus and was named Notre Dame Man of the Year by the Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis.

    His survivors include his wife, four daughters and three sons --The Bulletin
