    John F. BIGLEY, 85, 16852 18 B Road, Culver , died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Marshall County where he had been a patient for one week.

    He was born in Chicago to Guy T. and Mabel Van SCHOIACK BIGLEY.

    On Sept. 4, 1929 in South Bend he married Beatrice J Rassner, who survives.

    He owned and operated Bigley Orchards in Culver for 40 years. In 1970 he retired, turning the orchards over to his son David. He attended Grace United Church of Christ in Culver .

    Surviving with his wife are two sons, Bryce and David BIGLEY, both of Culver ; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    Memorial services will be at a later date with the Rev. Denise HAMILTON officiating.

    There is no visitation. Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements.

    Memorials may be made to the Grace United Church of Christ in Culver .

    Beatrice J. Bigley CULVER—Beatrice J. Bigley, 88, of W. 18th B Rd. died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997 at 8:50 a.m. at Mayflower Care Center in Plymouth.

    She was the former owner of Bigley Orchards.

    Beatrice was born on May 25, 1909 in Peru to David H. and Margery Ellen Guynn Rassner.

    In 1928 and 1929, she attended Western College for Women in Oxford, OH.

    On Sept. 4, 1929, Beatrice married John F. Bigley. They established and operated Bigley Orchards of Culver.

    She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as worthy matron in 1950.

    She and her husband attended Grace United Church of Christ of Culver.

    Survivors include two sons, J. Bryce and David, both of Culver; a brother Donald Rassner of Jackson, MS; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her father, David H. Rassner; her mother, Margery Ellen Rassner; two brothers, Russel and Virgil; and her husband, John.

    Cremation will take place in the Michiana Crematory in South Bend.

    Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth is in charge of arrangements.
