Sig Rossa, East Shore Resident, Dies In Hospital , age 72, well-known East Side retired grocer, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 in Elkhart General Hospital after being admitted there by ambulance on Sunday, Aug. 8.

Born Nov. 4, 1892, in Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. Rossa came to Culver 33 years ago from South Bend and since that time, he and Mrs. Rossa have operated the S. J . Rossa Grocery at 1352 East Shore Drive until they conducted a clearance sale and closed their business in October, 1964. They continued to make their home at the same address.

On Aug. 29, 1918, Mr. Rossa was married to Julia Sherry in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, South Bend. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus in Plymouth and the Realtors Association of Plymouth.

Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Adeline M. Taylor of St. Joseph, Mich.; two brothers, Mitchell and Henry, both of St. Joseph, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Sally Waters and Mrs. Estelle Kochanowicz, both of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Isabel Roman of Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug . 18, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in South Bend with Rev. John Jakubielski, pastor, officiating. Sigmund J. Rossa, 72, of 1352 East Shore Dr., Culver, Ind., a former South Bend resident, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday in Elkhart General Hospital after a weeks illness

He was a retired grocer.

Born Nov. 4, 1892 in Milwaukee, he had lived in Culver for the last 33 years, coming from SOuth Bend.

On AUg 29, 1918, he married Julia Sherry in St. Hedwig's Catholic church. She survives

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Adeline M. Taylor of St. Joseph, Mich.; two brother: Mitchell and Henry both of St. Joseph; three sisters: Mrs. Sally Waters and Mrs. Estelle Kochanowicz, both of Milwaukee and Mrs. Isabel ROman of Chicago.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the St/ Joseph's Funeral home.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hedwig's church Reev. JOhn Jakubielske, pastor officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He was a lifetime member of the Knights of COlumbus, Plymouth, and the Realators Assn. of Plymouth.

Services for Mrs. Lulia L. Rossa, 82, of the RIdgedale Nursing Home, who died at 3:34 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing home after an extended illness, was to have been at 10 a.m. today in St. Hedwig's Catholic church. Rev. Matt Sienkiewicz, pastor was to have officiated.
Burial was to have been in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was a owner and operator of the Ross Groery store in Culver, Ind.

She was born on Fe b. 16, 1900 in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.

In `1916 in Milwaukee, she was married to Sigmund ROss, who dfied in 1965.
She is survived by four grandchildren: Charles A. Taylor of Buchanan; Loretta Taylor of Coloma, Mich.; Genette Taylor of Benton Harbor and Mrs. Vican WIlbon of St. Joseph, Mich; and 5 great-grndchildren.
