1905 - A farm Fire
    John Murray licing at the south end of the lake, lost a small building by fite at 9 o'clock Monday night. The building stoo between the house and barn with but little space intervening, but not withstanding, rhe family had retires they were able to move the larger structures. The shed and was used as a coal house and contained for or five tones. The property was insured in the Hise Mutal Company of Macshall county. Mr. Murray is unable to state how the fire orignates Nov. 5 1905


1905 Oct 12 - Paid In Full Without Disount -
    The American Insurance company of Newark represented by W. O. Osobrn, paid in full without discount my loss sustained by the fire. The Loss was settled to my complete satisfaction John H. Murry.


1908 - April 6 - John H. Murray has sold 25 acres at the south end of the lake to George Busart fot $1,500 and has rented the house and barn to another party for the summer.

1908 - April 6 - John Murray, who sold his farm south of the lake, has moved to Waukegan, Ill. His son Alvin, a senior in high school will remain here until the close of the school year.

1908 - Dec 10 - The John H . Mrry cottage on the shore of Maxinkuckee south of the Arlington was destroyed by fire yesterday morning quite early and only two men were present to witness it. They discovered the tracks of two men fresh in the snow leading from the house. And as the fire when first discovered was blazing up the outside of the house they were convinced it was the work of incendiaries. The barn on the place was set on fire Oct. 1 and destoryed - Argos Reflector (Indiana)

1908 Dec 10 - A Victim of Incendiaries
    The John H. Murry cottahe of rhe lake shore south of the Arlington was destroyed by fire yesterday morning.

    Ezra Blanchard discovered the fire bewtween 3 and 4 o'clock while going to meet the 4:30 traind at Hibbard and notified Gilber Hosimer, a relation of Murray and cartaker of the property

    Hosimer went to the scene of the fire and remained until after daylight though unable ro do anything toward saving the place. So far as known these two men were the only persons who saw the fire.

    The fire, when discovered by Blanchard, was blazing up the outsire of the house. Hosimer found the trackes of two men in the snow leading from the house to the railroad.

    The house, a story and a half cottage built ago built two years ago, was insured for $1,300. A small amount of funiture left in the house was insured for $100.

    The barn on the place was set-on fire Oct. 1 and destroyed. Tracks of two men were left of the ground at that time.

    Mr. Murray removed to Zion City, Ill., last spring. Why he should be the victim of incendiaries no one seems to know.


1909 Aug. 5 - J. h. Zechiel went to Zion City yesterday to see his brother-in-law John H. Murray, who is suffering from a fall from a builder's scaffold two moths ago. His shoulder blade was broken and he is paralysed from the shoulders down.

Death of Former Resident
    John H. Murray died at Zion City, Ill., Sunday morning. Mr. Murray lived on hos farm south of the lake until about twp years ago, when he removed to Zion City. He leased a wife and several children. Mrs. Murray is a sister of Jacob Zechiel - Sep 23 1909
