    Former City Clerk Succumbs at 83 The second death within a week in the same family occurred yesterday, with the death of John Wesley Rhodehamel, 83 years old, 3953 Kenwood avenue, a former city clerk. The first death was of Mrs. Kathleen Hall Rhodehamel, 25 years old, 943 East 57th street, wife of Robert H. Rhodehamel, a grandson of Mr. Rhodehamel. Mrs. Rhodehamel died Tuesday morning after an illness of 10 days. Funeral and burial services for her were held yesterday afternoon. Mr Rhodehamel was born in Piqua, O., and came to Indiana while a young man. He had been active in Indianapolis civic affairs and in politics many years. He served four years city clerk, being elected in 1920. He was married to Emma Jose in 1881, who preceded him in death. Survivors of Mr. Rhodehamel are two sons, Harley W. Rhodehamel of Indianapolis and Wesley A. Rhodehamel of Bloomington; a daughter, Mrs. Theodore L. Lock of Indianapolis, and eight grandchildren.     Ex-Clerk's. Wife Dies.

    Mrs. Emma L. Rhodehamel, wife of John W. Rhodehamel, ex-city clerk, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore L. Locke, 3416 Guilford avenue, after a brief illness.

    She had spent most of the winter in Florida in an effort to regain her health.

    Mrs. Rhodehamel was born m Indianapolis Oct. 31, 1860, and lived here all her life.

    She was the daughter of Nicholas and Johanna Jose, who were early settlers in the community.

    For many years she was active in charity work, particularly on the South side. For the last twenty-five years she was treasurer of the women's society of the Indianapolis Maennerchor. She also was active in the affairs of the Altenheim.

    In addition to the husband and daughter, she is survived by three sons, Harley W. of Indianapolis and Armond and Wesley Rhodehamel of Florida: four sisters, Mrs. Charles H. Adam, Mrs. Julius Frick, Mrs. J. B. Stokesberry and Mrs. P. F. Balz. and four brothers. Victor R., Herman Oscar Jose, all Indianapdie olis, and seven grandchildren.

    Funeral arrangements have not been made, but seryices probably will be held Saturday afternoon
