Husband of Jane; father of John and Jim Thompson; Stephen and Allen Lathrop, Rae Wilson, Sally Claypool, Jean Corey, Julie Moses, Jane Stephens and Julie Steck; son of Merritt L. Thompson; brother of Mrs. Richard Light and Mrs. Joseph A. Sawrey. Memorial Services at Second Presbyterian church, Saturday, Nov. 7 3 p.m. Friends may visit the family at the church after the services.       John "Jack" Thomposon, 54, business man and longtime resident of Indianapolis, died Monday at his winter home at Kailua-Kona, Hawawii

      Thompson a graduate of Indiana University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, formerly taught at Orchard Country Day School and spent the majority of his business career as president of American Fabricated Products.

      He recently had served on the board of directos of Stanray Corp., Chicago, and was active in the formation and direection of various other business concerns here and in Hawaii.

      One of his favorite business endeavors was the Indianapolis warriors footballs team.

      A sports enthisiast, Thompson was a member of Woodstock Club, Maxinkuckee Country Club at Culver and Keauhou-Kona Country Club at Kailua-Kona. He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization, American Business Club and University Club.

      Memorial contrbutions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
