The Mass of the Resurrection for Dorothy Helen (Greenen) Deery, 81, of 1650 East Shore Drive, Culver, Ind., will be offered on Thursday, at 10 a.m., in St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver, by the Rev. Father Jeffery Largent.

Friends may call at the church today, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A 7:30 p.m. A prayer service ' will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the chruch, followed by a gathering for friends and family at 8 p.m. at 1650 East Shore Drive, Culver.

Mrs. Deery died on Aug. 19, at 8:15 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.

The Bonine Funeral Home, 104 Lakeshore Drive, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Deery, the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Gagen Greenen, was born on. Dec. 16, 1914, in Indianapolis. She was a graduate of St. John's Academy, Indianapolis.

On May 6, 1939, she married Francis X. Deery, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1967.

In 1979, she retired as a secretary for the American States Insurance Co. and moved to Culver where she has resided for the past 15 years.

Mrs. Deery was an active member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church and the Ladies Society of the church. She was also a member of Aqua Cizers of Ancilla College, and had served in the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Joseph's Hospital of Marshall County and the Culver Senior Citizens Group.

Mrs. Deery is survived by a daughter, Marisue Ann Muessig and her husband, Charles, of Novi, Mich.; two sons, Dr. Michael F. Deery and his wife, Judy, and John J. Deery, both of Culver; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Interment services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Monday Rites Set For Francis Deery
Funeral services for Francis X. Deery, 52 years old, lifelong Indianapolis resident, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Deery died Friday in his home, 5110 East Pleasant Run Parkway, North Drive, after an extended illness.

He was a 1936 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and worked 12 years for the Indianapolis Post office as a postal clerk until he became ill.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Holy Name Society, Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis and Knights of Columbus Post 437.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Dorothy Deery; two sons, Dr. Michael F. Deery of Belcourt, N.D., and John J. Deery of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Marisue Muessing of Brownsburg, and his father, Burt Deery of Indianapolis. - Indianapolis Star Sun, Mar 12, 1967 ·Page 31
