1953 - Oct 21 - Eatons Will Obsreve 50th Anniversary

    Mr. and Mrs Reason Eaton will observe their golden wedding anniversary Saturday and will celebrate the occasion with open house from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday at 1711 East Shore Drive.

    Mr. and Mrs. Eaton were married in Argos on Oct 24 1903. Mrs. Eaton is the former Nora Powers

    They have five children: Mrs. Carrie Snoke, Mrs. Helen Charters, Mrs. Anna Raye Hites and Mrs. Clayton Thomas all of Plymouth and CLarence Eaton of LaPaz. They also have 13 grandchildren and and 14 great grandchildren.


1953 - Dec 16 0 Nora Ellen Eaton Dies At Parview At Age 68
    Mrs Nora Ellen Eaton, 68, ROute 1 Culver, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Monday at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth, asn an illness of one month.

    She was born Sept 25, 1885 in Marshall county to Isaac and Kathyrn Powers and was married in 1903 to Reason Eaton.

    They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last fall.

    She was a member of the Gilead Methodist Church.

    Surviving with her husband are four daughters: Mrs. Carrie Snoke, Mrs. Helen Hartes, and Mrs. Anna Rae Hite all of Plymouth, Mrs. ELoise Thomas and CLarence Eaton both of LaPaz; a sister Mrs. Ethel Eaton of Sharpsville; a brother Reuben Powers of Argos; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

    Mrs. Eaton was the daughter-in-law of Charles Eaton, retired Culver pharmacist, who will be 92 years of age next June 17


1954 - Apr. 21 - Reason Eaton Burned - Reason Eaton received moderately severe burns on his right leg and both hands a week ago Tuesday when his clothing caught fire while he was burning leaves along a ditch near the Maxinkuckee Golf Course. He was treated by Dr. Donald Reed

    Reason C. EATON, 75, caretaker of the Maxinkuckee golf course who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while using a tractor mower at the course Wednesday, died at 10 a.m. today in Plymouth Parkview hospital.

    A lifetime resident of Marshall county, Mr. Eaton was born near Argos, March 17, 1886 to Charles and Carrie EATON. He was married Oct. 24, 1903 in Argos to Nora POWERS, who died Dec. 14, 1953.

    He was a member of the Gilead Methodist church near Argos.

    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ross (Carrie) SNOPE, Plymouth, Mrs. Cecil (Helen) CHARTERS, Bourbon, Mrs. Louis (Anna Raye) HITE, Inwood, and Mrs. Clayton (Eloise) THOMPSON, LaPaz; a son, Clarence "Pete" EATON, LaPaz; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruby ROBBINS, Argos, and a brother Garvis [EATON], Sharpesville.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Grossman funeral home at Argos with the Rev. Russell GOOD of the Gilead Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery at Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.


1961 - Oct 1 - Reason C. Eaton Dies at 75 After Suffering Stroke
    Funeral serivces for Reason C. Eaton, 75, who died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Sept 29 in Parkview Hospital at Plymouth, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Grossman Funeral Home in Argos

    He was taken to Parkview Wednesday after sufferin a cerebral hemorrhage while operatinga a tractor-mower at the Maxinkuckee Country Club Golf course where he was employed for many years.

    Rev. Russell Good, pastor of the Gilead Methodist Church of which Mr. Eaton was a member officiated.

    Internment was in New Oak Hill Cemetery at Plymouth.

    Born March 17, 1886 near Argos the son of John Charles and Carrie Chapman Eaton, he had been a resident of Marshall County his entire lifetime.

    He lived near the golf course at 1711 East Shore Drive.

    On Oct. 24 , 1930 at Argos he was maried to Nora Powers. She died Dec. 14, 1953.

    Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. ROss (Carrie ) SNole, Plymouth; Mrs. Cecil (Helen) Charters Bourbon; Mrs. Louis (Anna Raye) Hite Inwood; Mrs. Clayton (ELoise) Thomas Lapaz; a son Clarence (Pete) Eaton LaPaz; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Ruby RObbins, Argos and a brother, Garavas Eaton, Sharpsville.

    Charlie Eaton's son His father Charlie Eaton, until his death at age 94 on Feb. 12 1957, was one of Culver's best known figures for many years.
