[Edward] Ed’s Goodrich's marriage to Elizabeth Neff resulted in one child, Florence, who was born on May 12, 1897. She married Francis Dunn, originally from Marion, Indiana, in November 1921. Florence and Francis Dunn had two sons: Wesley, a retired psychologist, lives in Florida; Edward, once a jewelry manufacturer in Elwood, Indiana, is now retired and resides in Indianapolis. Before her death in 1994, Florence contributed approximately $1 million to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and another $1 million to Butler University in Indianapolis Edward and Elizabeth Neff Goodrich had a daughter, Florence, who was born on May 12, 1897, and passed away on July 15, 1994. Florence married Francis Dunn (born on January 23, 1896; died on February 13, 1976) in 1921,and they had two sons: Wesley, born on December 20, 1922-; and Edward , born on October 31, 1925. In 1921, Florence had married Francis Dunn of Marion, Indiana, who had recently graduated from Harvard. The two moved to Indianapolis, where Francis was a manager with the W. H. Gossard Company.

Wesley A. Dunn, Ph.D. Born December 20, 1922 in Winchester, Indiana.

Dr. Dunn graduated from St. Georges School, Newport RI. in the class of 1941. He graduated from Harvard in 1947 as the class of 1945, following service in the US Air Corps as an Aerial Photographic Officer. Lt. Dunn spent a year in Japan aerial mapping Japan and South Korea.

He obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University in 1951, and worked at the Marion County Child Guidance Clinic and the Marion County Juvenile Court in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also in private practice.

Dr. Dunn served on the Boards of the Indiana Civil Liberties Union and the Indianapolis Planned Parenthood Association. He served as a consultant to many local organizations, including the Indiana University Medical School, the Department of Public Welfare, the Department of Family Services, the Jewish Social Services, and others.

After closing his northern practice, he sailed a 40' sailboat to Florida in 1980 to continue his adventures in a warmer climate, where he worked part time for the Mental Health Clinic in Sarasota. He was most proud of sailing his 40' sloop on a 6 month voyage to Brisbane, Australia in 1986 to watch the Americas Cup Race. Over the years, he accumulated several racing trophies with his sailboat up and down the Gulf Coast, Atlantic Coast, and in the Bahamas. In the early 90's, Wesley switched his preferred propulsion from wind to large diesel engines.

During the next dozen years, he and his wife Cynthia traveled from Montreal, Canada to the Cayman Islands, logging tens of thousands of miles, including two five month trips around the "Great Circle Waterway."

He was also a pilot, scuba diver, snow skier, and golfer. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Yacht Club, Sarasota Yacht Club and the Longboat Key Club. He was also a proud member of the ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out in Sarasota), a group of retired Psychologists.

Wesley passed peacefully at home six months after being diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Survivors include his wife Cynthia Segrest Dunn, step-children Todd (Randa) Chas of Charleston, SC, Jane (Victor) Santiago of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Cynthia (Peter) Taylor of Punta Gorda, FL, Jack (Julia) Hamilton of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Elizabeth (Patrick) Doggett of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren, laden, Zia, Taquim & Khadell Chas, Grace Singletary, Katherine Fett, Tyler & Sara Hamilton, Cabell & Emma Doggett, and many nieces nephews and friends.

INDIANAPOLIS - Douglas Wesley Dunn passed away on September 6th 2024 at the age of 68. He was born to Edward Goodrich Dunn Sr. and Nancy Hare Dunn on February 13th 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Doug graduated from Park Tudor High School where he excelled on the football team as a tight end. He then graduated from Miami of Ohio University in Oxford, Ohio with a business degree in Finance. Doug went on to work at AWB Bank in Muncie, Indiana for a short time. After working in Finance, he then moved to Indianapolis and started a music store with a close friend and named it Eagle Audio located in Zionsville, Indiana. He then went on to work for many years as CFO in the family business called Dunn-Rite Products in Elwood, Indiana. Doug was a longtime member of The Woodstock Country Club of Indianapolis, The Meridian Hills Country Club of Indianapolis and Maxinkuckee Country Club of Culver, Indiana. Doug loved playing tennis, platform tennis and golf.

One of Doug’s many interests and a big part of his life was the Indy 500. He loyally attended it for decades with a special group of friends who had many traditions that they enjoyed usually at Doug’s home over the long memorial weekend.

Doug had a fun sense of humor and will always be remembered by his nieces and nephews for the pretend games he played with them at family holiday gatherings. Doug will also be remembered for his great steady bass guitar playing in a Rock and Roll band with his brother, sister in-law and friends called The Rassle Monkeys. This band played at many parties and events around Indianapolis.

Doug is preceded in death by his father Edward Sr. and younger brother Wesley Hare Dunn.

He is survived by his mother Nancy, brother Ted (Julia), niece Kelly Lake (Nick), nephews Teddy (Anne), Wesley (Olivia) and Tanner (Emily) and ?ve great nieces and nephews. A calling will be held on Wednesday September the 18th at 4:00 at the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetary with a service to follow at 5:00.
