ST. JOHN, IN John Davids, age 84 of St. John, formerly of Chicago, IL, first son of Jacob and Theresa (Heinstra) Davids, passed away February 3, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean (Doot); one son, Jack (Nancy) Davids of St. John; two daughters: Claudia (John) Littleford of CO and Patricia (Craig) Menninga of St. John; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by one brother, Ted (Marilyn) Davids; one sister, Helen Noort; and sister-in-law, Rita Davids all of the Chicagoland area.

John was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jacob.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Christian Reformed Church with Revs. Sytsma and Davids officiating.

Burial immediately following at Hope Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family is being held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN.

John was a longtime member of Second Christian Reformed Church of Highland.

He was a retired builder/developer, a leader in both his community and his church community, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran/86th Infantry.

John was well loved by all, especially his close, extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, IL.

Jean Davids, age 96, of Crete, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022.

Jean was born on March 3, 1926.

She grew up in Englewood, Illinois and attended Chicago Christian High School where she met John Davids. They were married on November 22, 1946. They lived most of their life in Highland, Indiana where they raised their three children, Jack, Claudia, and Patricia.

Jean was an active member of 2nd Christian Reformed Church in Highland, Indiana where she served as secretary for a time and participated in several other committees including being head counselor for Calvinettes. She also served on the Women's Guild of Trinity Christian College and volunteered at Community Hospital. She and John enjoyed extensive traveling and spending time with their family on Spider Lake and Lake Maxinkuckee.

She is preceded in death by her husband John and her daughter Claudia.

She is survived by her children Jack Davids (Nancy), Patricia Menninga (Craig), twelve grandchildren, and twenty three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

There will be a funeral service directly following the visitation.

The interment ceremony will be for family only
