Services for Dr. Ernest C. filliman Jr., 77, of Glen Ridge, a professor and formerly an Insurcompany medical director, will be held at. 10 a.m. today in the Christ Episcopal Church, Bloomfield.

Arrangements are by George Van Tassel's Community Funeral Home, Bloomfield.

Dr. Hillman died Sunday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura Bucchle, In Wayne, Pa.

He was the assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark. Earlier, Dr. lillman had been the second vice president and medical director of the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co. in Newark for 30 ycars.

He was a 1934 graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., and in 1943 was graduated from: the New York University College of Medicine. Dr. Hillman served his residency and internship at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.

He was a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Societics of New Jersey and Essex the Associated Physicians in Montclair, and the Practitioners Club and Doctors' Club, both of Essex County. Dr. Hillman was also a member of the Glen Ridge Athictic Club.

He was past president of the Essex County Heart Association and Chr-III Service of Essex County and West Hudson County. Dr.Hillman was past chairman of the Ridge Board of Health. He served on the Civic Conference Committee in Glen Ridge and the Glen Ridge Forum. Dr. Hillman had been a coach with the Glen Ridge Littie League.

Born in Orange, he lived in Glen Ridge for many years.

The ceremony took place on Saturday, Oct. 7, in the summer home of the brides mother at 368 East Shore Road with the Reverend C. C. Relmer of Logansport officiating

The bride who was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, John W. Hamilton of Winnetka, Illinois, wore a street-length dress of dark blue velveteen, a small feathered cap of fuchsia trimmed in blue veiling and carried a arm boquet of garninas, carnations and tube roses.

Miss Patty Failey sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor and Miss Karen and Miss Nancy Barnaby of Greencastle, Indiana and Miss Ann and Miss Elizabeth Hamilton , of Winnetka, neces of the bride were flower girls. C. H. Barnaby Jr. of Greenecastle was best man

That very attractive cover on the October issue of McCall's magazine may have seemed familiar to you . . . and very rightly so, for the model who posed for the picture is none other Laura Failey of Kankakee, Ill., niece of Mrs. George Johnson, of Wilson Naylor Cox, nd of Bruce Failey, all of this city. Laura has visited in Terre Haute frequently and has an extensive acquaintance here. Laura is an art student in New York city, where she studied at the Parsons College of Art. She is at present working under Neysa McMein, the famous illustrator, and the McCall's cover was the work of Miss McMein herself. In addition to posing for Miss McMein, Laura poses for commercial photographers, and a picture of her was included in a showing of sport styles which appeared in the June issue of Pictorial Review. The cover of the McCall's magazine reproduced very faithfully Laura's manifold charms. She has exceptionally lovely black eyes, very dark hair, and a creamy skin, all of which are depicted in the picture. - Terre Haute Saturday Spectator, Oct. 10, 1936, page 22.

East Lansing - Patricia Naomi Hillman Brookover passed over on January 11, 2021 due to non-COVID-19 complications of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and bone marrow failure. Patty was born on March 15, 1949, the second of three daughters of Ernest C. Hillman, Jr. M.D. and Laura Failey Hillman. She grew up in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and graduated from Glen Ridge High School in 1967. She went on to earn a B.S. in Human Ecology from Cornell University in 1971, subsequently obtained a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan in 1974, and was a Registered Dietician. Patty leaves behind her husband, George M. Brookover of East Lansing, Michigan, daughter, of Haslett, Michigan, and son, of East Lansing, Michigan. She is also survived by her sisters of Wayne, Pennsylvania, and of Indianapolis, Indiana, one niece, five nephews, and three great nieces.

Patty spent her professional years in public health holding numerous positions with the State of Michigan finally retiring as Cancer Prevention and Control Section Manager at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in 2017.

Patty was noted for her cheerful, outgoing kindness, and a belief in and promotion of social equality and health equity. A member of numerous professional organizations, she was devoted to her church and her community. She was passionate about swimming and enjoyed her summers at lake cottages in Culver, Indiana and Interlochen, Michigan, and at her beloved Camp Nyoda in Oak Ridge, New Jersey. Patty was a beacon of light for all those who knew her. She made a special effort to stay in close contact with the legions of friends she met and maintained throughout her life.

Interment after cremation will be private in The Peoples Church of East Lansing Memorial Garden with a memorial gathering later this year when safe for all.
