2016 - Dec - Culver Wings & Pizza led by new manager, fresh approach
CULVER - Culver Wings and Pizza (18571 State Rd. 10 in Culver) is a locally owned family restaurant
and pub with a new manager: life-long Culver resident Tucker Anderson.
"About three months ago (Wmgs owner) John Zehner and Pam (Zehner) Craft approached me and
asked if I would take the reins. They were influenced by my business, Door Stop Delivery and a strong
recommendation from Mark Damore. Jr (owner of the Lakehouse Grille in Culver. They wanted to grow the
relationship between the restaurant, the town and the Academy," Anderson explained.
Anderson, having grown-up in Culver, has a deep connection to the community. In addition to owning
his own business and managing Culver Wings and Pizza he is the vice-president of the service organization,
Culver Beard Club, as well as a graduate of Culver Military Academy and Culver Woodcraft Camp. He spent
many summers working at the Woodcraft Camp. "What I am trying to do with this place is rebuild the
reputation with town and the Academy, and create awareness that it is here," Anderson said. Branding,
marketing and communication between Culver Wings and Pizza and the community at large is what the
new manager is focusing on.
"We are an affordable family dining restaurant that is friendly," he added.
2016 - Dec 21 - Closed
Unfortunately, we have decided to close Culver Wings permanently. The decision was accelerated once
the rumor was posted on FB last night.
I want to thank Pam Craft, who tried her best, even with a painful foot injury and a full time job to
make it work. She did more than expected and worked very hard day after day. I also want to thank
my long term employees who provided great food and service over the years.
Culver Wings is a great place that needs more attention than Pam or I can provide. The business is
for sale and looking for an owner who can provide the TLC it needs. It is a great opportunity for
someone who has a flare for food and the time to dedicate to the business.
Thanks to all the local support! - John Zehner
