Douglas L. Justice - April 25, 1960 - March 21, 2010

    UNION MILLS - Mr. Douglas L. Justice, 49, of Union Mills, IN, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, as the result of an auto accident. He was born April 25, 1960, in LaPorte, IN, the son of J. Thomas Justice and Sandra Ann (Schoof) Justice.

    He had lived in the LaPorte area all of his life.

    Douglas was a graduate of Manchester College. He worked as a station operator for NIPSCO in Wheatfield, IN. He was a member of the PNA.

    Douglas and his wife owned and operated Dairy Queens in LaPorte and Culver, IN, and Papa John's in Niles and St. Joe, MI.

    He was an avid investor in the stock-market and enjoyed sports, especially basketball and baseball.

    Doug took pride in listening to his daughter doing sports broadcasting at the University of Indianapolis; he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

    On September 28, 2001, in Mackinaw Island, MI, he married Barbara Girard, who survives.

    He is also survived by his parents, J. Thomas and Sandra Justice of LaPorte; daughter, Erin Justice of LaPorte; two stepdaughters, Tara of LaPorte and Beth of Union Mills, IN; three stepsons, Jeff of Illinois, Tom of Union Mills and Tony of Union Mills; three grandchildren, Morgan, Caleb and Emily of Niles, MI; two sisters, Sue (Steve) Burdine of Porter and Carla (Scott) Siler of Mishawaka; one brother, Steve (Shelly) Justice of Minnesota; mother-in-law, Karen; three sisters-in-law, Terri, Pam (Brian) and Sheryl; a brother-in-law, Dale (Elaine); and many nieces and nephews.

    Arrangements are being handled by the Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, where the family will receive friends Friday, March 26, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm and Saturday, March 27, from 11 a.m. until time of services.

    Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., on Saturday March 27, at 1 PM, with Rev. David Albertin officiating.

    Interment will follow at Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Douglas L. Justice.
