Logansport, June 12. -- Mrs. Mary Mowbray, 60, wife of Major Ralph Mowbray, retired instructor at the Culver Military Academy, and a member of a prominent pioneer family of this city, succumbed Monday night at a hospital in South Bend after an illness of several months.

Born in Cass county, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Forman. She was adopted by the aunt and uncle, the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. SNIDER. Mr. Snider was a prominent pioneer local business man.

Following her marriage in 1915, she was a frequent visitor here.

She is survived by her husband and daughter, Mrs. McCarness Goode, wife of a Culver Military academy instructor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at in Culver with Rev. Roland of Plymouth officiating.

Burial is to be made in Mt. Hope cemetery in Logansport at about 4 o'clock the same afternoon. - Wednesday, June 12, 1940 Rochester Sentinel

Funeral Rites to be Held Thursday for Mrs. Ralph Mowbray
Mrs Mary Forman Mowbrary, age 58, wife of Col. Ralph H. Mowbray, retired officer of the Culver Military Academy, died at Epworth hospital in South Bend early Tuesday morning, June 11.

She had been in poor health for several weeks and was taken to the hospital four weeks ago.

Mrs Mowbray was born in Logansport, and had lived in Logansport and Culver all her life.

Surviving are the widower, one daughter, Mrs Mary Ellen Goode of Culver and one brother, George Forman of Lecington, Ky.

Funeral service will be at the Mowbray cottage, 374 East Side road, Thursday, June 13 at 2:30 p.m. with Father Rolland of the Episcopal church of Plymouth in charge.

Interment will be in the Joroloman mausoleun, Mr. Hope cemetery at Logansport,

Mrs Mowbray had been an active member of the local League of Women Voters for several years and had always been deeply interested in the affairs of the community willingly lending her aid to progressive movements.-- 12 Jun 1940 Citizen
