By the 1880 Plat map the Hawks lands were contained tio the area below the cemetery (W. Shore Dr.) on the Tammarack road pn the west side
till you got to Hawk Lake and they owned the property on both sides in that area.

By 1898 they had acquire land north of North of W. Shore Dr. on Main St. to the west of the town corporate limits up above

This is the area believed to be described in the parcels of land and the amount of property
the Hawk families owned till this point in time. Starting in 1963 or before "outsiders" started buying the
properties
This property is bounded by Clover street on the north, runs along on the west of Main Street and the Tammarack;
and 19th Road on the south and what is now new State Rd. 17 on the west for a total of 278 acres vy the 1968
plat map book. The family held on to this property from 1880 (if not before) til 1963 for a total of 83 years selling off
very little; or giving up for road easements and owning 100 acres bordering Hawk Lake. |
