Mr. Wood was born in Ellettsville, a son of David and Elizabeth Harris Wood.

He came to Indianapolis when he was 6 years old.

He had been a member of the Columbia Club since the first year it was organized, & past master of Mystic Tie Lodge No. 398, F. and A. M., a member of the Scottish Rite and the North M. E. Church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Grace Adams Wood, to whom he was married in 1892; two daughters, Mrs. Jessica Wood McKeand and Miss Martha Wood, and two grandchildren, Charles McKeand Jr. and Jessica Wood McKeand. - - Indianapolis Star Oct 30, 1932 ·

Mrs Grace Al Wood Rites to Be Friday

Mrs. Graveside services Grace Adams Wood, 86 years old, Los Angeles, a former Indianapolis civic leader, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Indianapolis, Mrs. Wood was active in the American Red Cross, YWCA and the Family Association, before to California in 1940.

She formerly lived at 2933 North Meridian Street. Mrs. Wood, who died Oct. 13 in Los Angeles, was graduated from Shortridge High School.

She was the widow of Frank W. Wood, a pioneer in the radio business here.

Her father, the late Justus C. Adams, was Speaker of the House of the Indiana General Assembly in 1895.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jessica Wood McKeand of Laguna Beach Cal., and Mrs. Alfred Hartwell of Pasadena, Cal., two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. - - Indianapolis, Indiana Oct 25, 1956
