CULVER - Susan K. Flora, 72, of Culver, passed away Aug. 10, 2016 at her home with her family at her side.

Susan was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Logansport, the daughter of the late Eugene "Pete" and Beulah L. (Wise) Schwering.

Aug. 28, 1965 Susan married Cary G. Flora and shared a lifelong partnership of love and companionship.

Susan's early years in Culver were filled with being an amazing mother and wife. She was active in her children's activities, baseball, softball, scouting, and she was one of the founding members of the Culver EMS. Susan was active in community affairs such as the Culver Plan Commission and the election board.

She gave her time generously to many community activities and charities, and for many years was an active member of the Hoosier Old Wheels car club. Susan loved cruising in the '47 Ford and attending many car shows in Indiana and Michigan.

In her latter years, Susan served as an example of courage and perseverance in fighting many physical issues, never complaining or giving up hope.
