Culver - Malcolm K. McDaniel, 82, of 317 W. Washington St. died at 11:56 a.m. Friday in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Plymouth.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma I. (Strunk); a son Stephen of Culver, and two sisters Elisiebeth McDaniel and Carol Lewis, both of Carol Stream, Ill.

Services will be at noon today in Bonine Funeral Home, where friends may call two hors before services.

Thelma I. McDaniel, 86, of Culver passed away at 3:20AM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver.

Thelma was born to Lloyd and Hattie (Ramsey) Strunk on September 11, 1926 in Whitley City, Kentucky.

In October 1948 she was married to Malcolm McDaniel in Wheaton, Illinois. Together they raised one son. Malcolm preceded her in death on October 31, 2003.

Thelma owned and operated the Paint Patio, a paint and wallpaper store, for many years.

She also enjoyed quilting and canning. She was a very active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and was a vital member of the church thrift shop. She gave many hours and years to the thrift shop and was instrumental in the decision
to move the shop to its current location on Ohio Street.

Thelma is survived by her son Stephen (Cindy) McDaniel of Plymouth, Indiana; grandchildren Matthew McDaniel of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Mary McDaniel of Plymouth, Indiana; and sister Wilma Sorg of Clarksville, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, 4 sisters, and 1 half-sister.

Visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Rev. Jacob Juncker will officiate funeral services at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Culver Masonic Cemetery.
