Services for Betty Jeanne Muehlhausen, 80, of Plymouth, formerly of Culver and Logansport, will
be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James Lutheran Church.
She died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her residence in Plymouth, following a lengthy illness. She had
been in the care of her family.
Born Feb. 25, 1919, in Logansport, she was the daughter of James I. and Emily C. Engelbrecht Barnes. On Dec.
28,1941, in Logansport, she was married to Gordon D. Muehlhausen, who; survives.
Mrs. Muehlhausen was a limited partner in the James I. Barnes Construction Company. She and her husband
also operated the Black Magazine Agency in Logansport.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport and Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver .
While in Logansport she was active in the church's: Ladies Service; Guild and the Priscilla Guild. From 1975 to
1977, she was on the Board of Church Properties for St. James Lutheran Church.
An avid bird-watcher, Mrs. Muehlhausen was a member of the National Audubon Society and a charter
member of the Indiana Audubon Society. She especially enjoyed spending summers with her family on Lake
Maxinkuckee at the Barnes Cottage, which has been in her family for more than 100 years.
Foremost in her life, however, was her family, who regard her as the best wife, mother, mother-in-law and
grandmother any family could have. Many times she remarked that all she ever wanted to be was a mother.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon Charles and J ulie Muehlhausen, Crawfordsville,
Frederick B. "Fritz" and Beth Muehlhausen, Lafayette, and Steven A. and Renee Muehlhausen, Plymouth;
one daughter and son-in-law, Christine B. and Sam Williamson, Logansport; three sisters, Doris Hillis,
Columbus, Marjorie Sparling, Culver , and Virginia Kniesly, Logansport; 10 grandchildren, Malinda Muehlhausen,
David Muehlhausen, John Muehlhausen, Emily Bopp and her husband, Brian, Fritz Muehlhausen,
Katie Muehlhausen, Samuel Williamson, Erik Muehlhausen, Henry Muehlhausen and Elizabeth
Muehlhausen; two stepgrandchildren, Samatha Urban and Robbie Williamson; and several nieces and
nephews.
Four sisters preceded in death. Pastors Marvin Hinkle and Robert Bartz will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday in Kroeger Funeral Home and one hour before the time of services
in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport, Trinity Lutheran
Church in Culver and the American Cancer Society.

Services for Gordon D. Muehlhausen, 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Logansport, will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at SL James
Lutheran Church.
He died at 5:15 am Friday, Nov. 17,2000, in South Bend Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 2,1919, in Chicago, he was the son of Charles and Hermine Mitrits Muehlhausen On Dec, 28,Vi941, in Logansport,
he was, married-to; Betty Jeanne Barnes, who; preceded in death on Jan. 4, 2000.
Mr. Muehlhausen owned and managed the Black Magazine Agency in Logansport. He also had been the general manager for
the James L Barnes Construction Company.
A 1941 graduate of the University of Illinois, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and enrolled in ROTC He was US.
Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and he served four years in the South Pacific, where he attained the rank of Lt Colonel
He was an avid supporter of high school athletics, both in Logansport and Plymouth.
He was a former member of the Logansport Rolary Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver .
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon Charles and J ulie Muehlhausen, Crawfordsville, Frederick B.
"Fritz" and Beth Muehlhausen, Lafayette, and Steven A and Renee Muehlhausen, Plymouth; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine
B. and Sam Williamson, Logansport; 10 grandchildren, Mandie Muehlhausen, David Muehlhausen, John Muehlhausen, Emily
Bopp and husband Brian, Fritz Muenlhausen, Katie Muehlhausen, Sam Williamson, Erik Muehlhausen, Henry
Muehlhausen and Elizabeth Muehlhausen; two stepgranchildren, Sami Urban an husband Brad, and Rob Williamson; greatgrandson,
Caleb Bopp; stepgreat-grandson, Jake Urban; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Louise Muehlhausen,
Atlanta, Ga, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two half-brothers, Fred and Almon Muehlhausen also preceded in death.
Pastors Robert Bartz and Marvin Hinkle will officiate at the services. Burial will be in ML Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Kroeger Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the funeral
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Culver and Hospice of Marshall county.
