CULVER - Kenneth R. Walter, 60, of 2114 E. Shore Drive, died at 5:30 a.m. today in his home of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Walter was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Merrillville.

On Dec. 11, 1976, he married Charlotte Balough, who survives.

Also surviving are six daughters, Marsha Walter and Carol Catanzarite, both of Indianapolis, Patti Pedigo and Cheryl Faas, both of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jackie Walter and Celeste Walter, both of Houston; two sons, Kenneth of Culver and David Horvath of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Walter owned and operated Rent-A-Wreck in Plymouth for four years and prior to that owned an Oldsmobile dealership in Merrillville.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign War Post 6919, of which he was a past commander, Merrillville American Legion, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Merrillville Volunteer Firemen's Association and Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m.

Saturday at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church.

Cremation has taken place.

There will be no visitation. Johnson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Cancer Association or to the Plymouth Public Library
